Pennants

Pennants bowls is the backbone of lawn bowls in Australia and drives most of the competition and participation for clubs in Tasmania.  The Pennant season is played from mid-October until early April the following year.

As of the year 2021 there are 27 clubs participating in Southern Tasmania pennants in 17 different divisions of ten teams.   In each division, every club plays each other twice over the season with the top four clubs playing off in the finals at the end.

It is a team based sport with 12 or 16 players per division depending on the competition of which there are three –  Wednesday Midweek Men’s, Thursday Women’s and Saturday Open Gender.
