Lawn bowls is an accessible and affordable sport that a wide range of people can play and enjoy but also challenging for those wanting to compete at higher levels.

Pennants bowls is the backbone of lawn bowls in Australia and drives most of the competition and participation for clubs in Tasmania. The Pennant season is played from mid-October until early April the following year with three competitions, Wednesday Men’s, Thursday Women’s and Saturday Open Gender.

Club and Bowls Tasmania South championships have competitions for singles, pairs, triples and fours and offers the chance to test you skills against the best.

For those looking for something more casual and with less time commitment Barefoot Bowls is a fun, relaxing way to get into and enjoy the sport with friends, work mates and family.

Buckingham Bowls Club is one of few clubs in Hobart to play bowls through the winter months with its own winter pennant competition on Saturdays and social bowls played on Tuesday and Thursdays.
